Financial advice for expats
Are you an expat living in Germany looking for truly independent financial advice? You have come to the right place. Only 1% of all financial advisors in Germany are independent and most of them do not offer advice in English.
Independent advice
I am one of the very few fee-only financial advisors in Germany. 99% of financial advisors in Germany are commission-based. The commissions built into financial products, for example, life insurance policies or managed funds, are often high and reduce your investment returns significantly. Quite frequently there are hidden costs as well. I am part of the 1% that does not accept any commissions. There are no hidden costs or fees.
I focus on four areas:
- Investments in stocks and bonds through ETFs
- Advice on acquiring real estate and investing in alternative assets
- Financial planning
- Pension planning
I offer advice throughout Germany via Teams. We can also arrange in-person meetings in the greater Cologne area.
What qualifications do I have?
My professional life is dedicated to finance. After studying economics and philosophy, I specialized in household finance, writing my dissertation at Maastricht University. Currently, my research and teaching focus on financial markets, investment theory, and pension planning. Having lived for many years as an expat in the Netherlands, I am well-acquainted with the challenges of navigating a new legal and tax system.
About you
My clients are mostly physicians, academics, entrepreneurs, and senior executives.
